Biking is the second greenest mode of transportation to walking. So how can it get greener? The collaborative design group, MakeLab, designed an environmentally friendly bike which also helps promote local community development in Greensboro, AL.
The Semester Bicycle is made from local bamboo and a unique steel frame “composed of a carbon fiber core and a hexagonal bamboo skin with durable laminated coating.” The project also fosters a better life for local families and creates new economic development opportunities in the rural town.
